This is a safe place to land when the weight of "being the only" or "one of a few" gets too heavy.Â
We come here to build real community, fix our crowns, and level-up because:Â
đŤ We deserve to be in the room, so our stories are told authentically.
𫠠We deserve to be at the table, so our voices and perspective are heard.Â
đŤ We deserve to be in leadership, so we can save space for those who've got next.
đŤ We deserve.
âI am the only Black woman on my team, how do I handle _____ situation?â

âThey said Iâd get promoted last cycle, but I am still in the same role.â
âMy clients are consistent with the microaggressions.â
âMy senior leadership doesnât value my work â I donât feel seen.â
âMy agency wonât send me to that event.â

"I am not sure how to network to find a mentor or sponsor.â
Hi, I'm Brandi Rand, CDMP. With almost 2 decades in the industry I lived these experiences at everyđđ˝ level đđ˝ of đđ˝ my career.Â
Having served as a national BRG lead for Black employees at a national ad agency, as a board member for 3 advertising/marketing organizations (AAF, 4As and ColorComm), Â as a M.A.I.P. Coach and a mentor, I saw the impact of not having real spaces, to hold real talk, and strategize real solutions.
Hearing these stories and living this experience -- and seeing how quickly we are leaving the industry inspired me to create HER Agency: The Collective a specially curated âthird space of agencyâ where you can truly build community, have the necessary conversations, and secure the advice, tools and strategies to level-up and own your agency.Â
It also led me to launch HER Agency: The Podcast, a preeminent podcast that centers dynamic Black women in advertising who are bold enough to pick up the pen, write the brief, and own their agency.
"It's not about doing the most, it's about doing what's most aligned." ~Brandi Rand
How? By making bold, aligned decisions, setting boundaries that protect your energy, and showing up as the fullest expression of yourself, no matter the room youâre in.
â¨Walking into meetings as the only Black woman in the room with unshakable confidence, knowing you belong and have a voice and perspective that demands respect.
â¨Proactively leading annual review conversations with a clear, compelling case for your valueâbecause youâve documented your wins and arenât waiting for anyone to "notice."
â¨Saying ânoâ to extra assignments that donât align with your goals and redirecting your focus to work that excites and fulfills you.
â¨Leaving "Happy Hours" you donât feel aligned with, knowing that fitting in doesnât require sacrificing your authenticity.
â¨Holding leadership accountable for the promotion they promised, backed by a clear plan, documentation, and the confidence to advocate for yourself.
â¨The relief of setting healthy boundaries, knowing youâre protecting your mental health and energy while still excelling in your role.
â¨The pride of seeing your contributions acknowledged and valued, even in spaces where your presence has historically been overlooked.
â¨The clarity of having a documented record of conversations, achievements, and challengesâempowering you to respond with strength and precision.
â¨The empowerment of showing up authentically, even in environments where microaggressions and unconscious bias have been the norm.
â¨The confidence of knowing your career is not left to chanceâyou're the one steering the ship.
â¨âI appreciate the opportunity, but Iâll need more information and resources before I commit to this project.â
â¨âIâd like to revisit the discussion we had about my promotion last cycle. Hereâs what Iâve accomplished since then.â
â¨âNo, Iâm not available for Happy Hour again this week.â
â¨âThis clientâs behavior is unacceptable, and Iâd like us to address it as a team.â
â¨âIâve identified an event that aligns with my professional growth goals, and Iâd like to explore attending with company support.â
â¨âI need to take time off to prioritize my well-being, and I trust my work will remain on track.â
